A Piece of Furniture - 1999

Reclaimed office furniture, foam and upholstery

This piece deals with the innuendo surrounding women in the workplace. When you break down the elements of a chair, they mirror parts of the human body... the arms, legs, back, seat, and feet. Suprisingly comfortable, the office chair is the perfect analogy for working women. The good woman behind her man, someone to lean on, to put your feet on, to twist around, to keep down... a piece of furniture.

This work is art of the artist's private collection.
